New Home Before and After Series {Tween Son’s Room}

Hello!  Today I will be showing you my son’s room.  He is a soccer player and fan.  Some of the soccer flags and scarves are from England in the early 90’s from when my husband traveled there to play soccer with his travel team.   Here is the before shot as it was getting prepped to be painted…IMG_2143

And now after.  We again ripped out old carpeting, installed hardwoods  and changed old blinds for new room darkening bamboo roman shades.  Ethan’s wall color is Silver Splendor by Valspar.  All trim is Paramount White by Valspar.  Same hardwood flooring as the other bedrooms.

Here are some more shots…

We brought his DIY bulletin board over from our prior house.  I purchased 3 big cork boards sized 24 x 36 from Hobby Lobby and adhered them to the wall with double stick foam tape.  I had my handy carpenter frame it out with trim to hold them into place on the wall.  It is a fixed bulletin board nailed to the wall, so it is not moveable. I painted it red and he can now pin anything he wants to the board.  That big guy on the wall (previous picture) is Wayne Rooney, English Soccer player for Manchester United.  He is a Fat Head along with all the other Man U decals on the wall.  They are super easy to place on and remove from the walls and leave no damage or sticky residue.  Very cool for kids rooms!!!!   And Pottery Barn Teen happened to have a Man U themed quilt and accessories in their new line last year.  So when Ethan saw that, he HAD to have it and I agreed!   Another DIY in this photo is the soccer jersey pillow.  I simply took 2 of my husband’s old Portsmouth FC soccer jerseys and wrapped them up over a pillow form to create a unique soccer pillow cover.  I simply safety pinned the jerseys to each other so I wouldn’t ruin them with any sewing.  Hope you enjoyed this colorful soccer themed room!  I know my son does!
